ACINA is a non-profit organization based in
New York. Strictly non-partisan and non-political, we represent
Italians working in the United States who are part of the communication
industry.
Founded in 1973, when the Italian press corps in America was small,
ACINA has grown into an organization with over one hundred members
nationwide. Our members now include print, radio, television and
Internet journalists, as well as photographers, producers, cameramen,
and public relations representatives. The main purposes of ACINA
are:
- Promote the presence of the Italian press
in the United States among cultural institutions, businesses,
universities, and industries
- Publish and distribute, free of charge, an
updated directory of its members
- Organize meetings with guest speakers
- Inform members of contractual matters concerning
the communication industry in Italy
- Encourage dialogue between Italian journalists
working abroad
- Award a yearly a scholarship in the U.S.
to a journalism student from Italy

and in the United States
